It’s a Very Bear-y Christmas at the Bearland Mint!
This Christmas Eve, the Mint briefly brought its printing presses to life, producing just 15 limited edition commemorative bear bills.
The reason behind the low mintage? “We don’t want our employees working hard the day before Christmas.” said the Chief of Printing and Design. “Plus, we’ll mint 15 more on the 27th, maybe with some added variety. I’d love to see more than just one denomination have a privy. Anyways, those will celebrate our first Boxing Day and will feature a… well… a present privy.”
The bills minted today feature a Christmas tree privy mark which, once fully legalized as tender, can be found under the Head of State’s authorizing signature. The image we took offers a rare sneak peek at the uncut notes shortly after they’ve left the presses, capturing the notes in their original sheets before processing and issuance.
