The Bearland Credit Bureau

Making Lending Better Since 2025

What the BCB Does

The Bearland Credit Bureau (BCB) is Bearland’s official financial record agency. We collect, verify, and maintain accurate borrower histories for citizens, businesses, cooperatives, and government-owned enterprises operating within territory of Bearland or interacting with Bearland lenders. Our mission is simple:

  • Help lenders set fair and lawful interest rates
  • Protect borrowers from predatory lending
  • Prevent fraud, usury, and deceptive financial practices
  • Improve financial stability across the entire nation
  • Support responsible credit growth as Bearland expands

How Borrower Scores Work

Every borrower in Bearland receives a score between 400 and 1000. Higher scores mean stronger payment history, responsible credit use, and no unpaid debts with Bearland lenders or agencies.

Score RangeRatingDescription
950–1000SExceptional reliability and credit discipline.
850–949AVery strong borrower with excellent history.
750–849BReliable borrower with stable repayment.
650–749CModerate risk; occasional late payments.
550–649DHigher risk; multiple past issues.
400–549ESignificant risk; restricted borrowing terms.

Maximum Interest Act Compliance

All lenders operating in Bearland and its territories must follow the Maximum Interest Act. This means no interest rate may exceed 12% per year, no compounding may occur more than once per year, and no late fees, penalties, or hidden charges may ever be added under any circumstances. Within these limits, lenders may offer risk-based pricing. High score borrowers may receive lower rates (for example 2-8%), while lower score borrowers may be offered up to the lawful ceiling of 12%.

If a borrower refuses to repay a lawful loan, Bearland permits several legal methods of recovery that do not violate the Act. Lenders may continue to charge up to 12% simple interest until the debt is paid, and may bring the matter to the Bearland High Court for a repayment order. Court orders may include wage redirection from Bearland based employment, seizure of collateral that was pledged at the time of the loan, freezing of Bearland government disbursements, or redirection of future payments owed to the borrower by any government agency or state owned enterprise. These enforcement tools ensure that lenders can recover funds lawfully without adding prohibited fees or exceeding the maximum interest rate. The Act may also be amended when necessary under the authority granted by the Constitution, ensuring it remains fair, effective, and adaptable as the nation grows.

What Information We Collect

The BCB maintains only financial data relevant to creditworthiness for borrowers. We do not collect personal information except as required for identity verification, and simply becoming a citizen does not create a borrower score. To receive a borrower score, financial activity must be reported to us by Bearland based financial institutions for loans or lines of credit issued to citizens, residents, or businesses operating within the territories of Bearland. Scores are generated only from verified borrowing activity, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and privacy for everyone. Some examples of information reported to us includes:

  • Outstanding loans and repayment history
  • Defaults or abandoned debts
  • Credit activity within Bearland
  • Borrower score changes over time
  • Payment disputes and resolutions
